It's exciting and scary at the same time both for children and parents.  Here are a couple of suggestions to help the transition to preschool go smoothly:

• • Invite a friend or two over to play with your child.

  • Begin to follow a regular bedtime routine at least one week prior to beginning class.

  • Introduce new and various foods for your family to try, encouraging at least one bite.

  • Talk about things that might be new at school.

  • Visit the local library and participate in Storytime or the Summer Reading Program.
